Back in Time

Have you ever wanted to go back in time? When all you wanted to do was to erase or redo that one thing? Or in my case, certain things. We all have a past. While some people’s past is painful, other’s is dark. Some people have a humiliating past while other’s have a fearful one. But we all come with baggage. It’s like they say “People have scars in all sorts of unexpected places, like secret road maps of their personal histories.” So we've all been there.

Despite of what you want and what you need, one thing that is certain is you can’t go back in time. You can’t undo or redo things. What’s done is done. What’s been said has been said. What’s lost is lost. I don’t know if you lost love or if you were harassed. Now that it has been done, you can’t take it back. The only thing you can actually do is mend it. Mend your broken heart; mend your low self esteem, whatever. Just stop wasting your time thinking about what you could’ve done or what you should’ve. Stop picturing the scene in your head for the 100th time. Save yourself the time, energy and tears. Because, take it from someone who has been there. If it was meant to happen, it would've  I’m sorry to break into your dream world but move on from whatever it is that you’re holding on to. Don’t think about how it would have been like had that one little thing didn't happen. ‘Cause it did. Living in a fantasy world thinking about going back and taking it back is barely going to help. So stop.

Where's the humanity?

The more our society prospers economically and socially, the more animal like we’re becoming. Actually no, animal like is a wrong statement. Animals would never do as devastating things as us. Like Stephen King once said “They're animals, all right. But why are you so god dam sure that makes us human beings?” Somewhere in this materially inclined world, we’re losing our humanity. We are becoming more and more reckless. Don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about. Yes, the inhumane and filthy things happening all over the globe. You, my friend have experienced it in your life as well. Have you ever stopped to help an unknown person? Now, some of you might say yes. But for most, the answer is obvious.

What?
We’re all too busy in our lives, trying to earn money, trying to look out for our own selves and we tend to forget about the things that really matter. We’re so caught up in our own world that we barely have time for others. We’re so self absorbed that sometimes, while we’re fulfilling our own needs, we hurt others. Not that we do it intentionally, no. We’re so straight headed that we barely even consider the possibility of ever being wrong. And even when we do accept that we’re wrong, we quickly justify our actions and console ourselves by listing the other person’s faults.

Why?
Now, whatever I’m writing in this article is not something you haven’t heard it before. You have. Yet you fail to make amends. Don’t we all know that the sole reason for our obnoxious behavior is the need to fulfill our ego? The need to be right. Always.

How to change?
We need to stop being so egoistic and accept the fact that no matter how great and sensible and mature we are, we CAN be wrong. We might not intend to cause damage and hurt people but we CAN do it unintentionally. And what we need is too stop being so narcissistic. It’s like they say “Ego has a voracious appetite, the more you feed it, the hungrier it gets.”

Believe in what you see, not hear.

Why be an atheist, they ask. To which I reply, why not.
Why believe in a superficial force which is said to be hiding in the clouds? Do we not have real things to believe in?

To be honest, I don't think that 80% of the people who claim to be theists are so. I think that they're just people who just need things. Who think that 'praying' to god will help them achieve their goals. Well, believe you me. It isn't. They're people who are too lazy to find an ultimate truth about man's existence. They're people who just need someone to blame and when they find no one, they blame the superior source. They're people who think that it's better to believe in something rather than believing in nothing. After All, that might upset 'god' i.e if he even exists. Now I don't mean to offend any of you. For, I know that many of you pretend to believe in god.
But seriously, WHY do we need to depend on some ultimate source to show us our path? WHY can't we make our own destiny?
Is it okay for 'god' to overlook the fact that 5 year old children are being raped? That we're practically scared to move out of our house thinking we may never return? That people are being murdered for money? Where in bible is that declared as fine? Did 'god' ask them be pure evil no reason whatsoever? Um..I don't think so.
Its we who do things. We're not puppets of god, if he even exists. Why be an atheist they ask. To which I reply, why be a theist.

Façades

For those of you who don't know what the word actually means, here: 'a dressing to cover up something unpleasant'. But that's just its literal meaning. Coming onto practicality, its something we all possess, something we all use. Yes, you too.

All our lives we mold ourselves into something that people want us to be. We shape our appearances, our accents, our personality, everything. It isn't something we like doing, right? But we do it anyway. Why? Because we wanbecause of these stereotypes that people spend half their lifetime trying to be someone they're not. And later, being judged for it. Its not a fair world, whether you're rich or poor, black or white, thin or fat, you WILL be judged. And in my opinion, its better to be judged for who you are than to be judged for someone you're pretending to be. So go ahead, take that façade of yours off because its not gonna earn you many points. Be who you are because at the end of the day, who you are IS who you wanna be. You're perfect. All of you.t to be liked. Because we've all been told that if we act in a particular way, we can get people to like us. We think that society is the root cause for it but aren't we the ones comprising the 'society'? We're all judgmental. We all judge people on the basis of something or the other. More often than ever we judge people without even knowing their story. Without knowing what caused them to be the way that they are.

Fat people splurge money on trying to get thin, somehow anyhow. They diet, they gym, they get weird surgeries done in order to look attractive. People born with a dark complexion try on every method that they can to have a fair complexion. Lemme ask you this, who said that only thin and fair people are attractive? That people who don't look like Victoria Secret's angels and Calvin Klien's models are going to be anathemised? Its because of these stereotypes that people spend half their lifetime trying to be someone they're not. All of you.
