Where's the humanity?

The more our society prospers economically and socially, the more animal like we’re becoming. Actually no, animal like is a wrong statement. Animals would never do as devastating things as us. Like Stephen King once said “They're animals, all right. But why are you so god dam sure that makes us human beings?” Somewhere in this materially inclined world, we’re losing our humanity. We are becoming more and more reckless. Don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about. Yes, the inhumane and filthy things happening all over the globe. You, my friend have experienced it in your life as well. Have you ever stopped to help an unknown person? Now, some of you might say yes. But for most, the answer is obvious.

What?
We’re all too busy in our lives, trying to earn money, trying to look out for our own selves and we tend to forget about the things that really matter. We’re so caught up in our own world that we barely have time for others. We’re so self absorbed that sometimes, while we’re fulfilling our own needs, we hurt others. Not that we do it intentionally, no. We’re so straight headed that we barely even consider the possibility of ever being wrong. And even when we do accept that we’re wrong, we quickly justify our actions and console ourselves by listing the other person’s faults.

Why?
Now, whatever I’m writing in this article is not something you haven’t heard it before. You have. Yet you fail to make amends. Don’t we all know that the sole reason for our obnoxious behavior is the need to fulfill our ego? The need to be right. Always.

How to change?
We need to stop being so egoistic and accept the fact that no matter how great and sensible and mature we are, we CAN be wrong. We might not intend to cause damage and hurt people but we CAN do it unintentionally. And what we need is too stop being so narcissistic. It’s like they say “Ego has a voracious appetite, the more you feed it, the hungrier it gets.”

  1. It is very important for each one of to live our life with utmost honesty to our own self. The less masks we carry the lighter we feel..Live life simply and follow your heart. We should all do things not to please or impress others but because we truly want to.
